TX Enterprises - February's Featured Producer

Congratulations to Charley and Amy Thomas' TX Enterprises for being Cowbuyer.com featured producer for February Featured Producer. Charley and Amy operate a cattle and grain operation in Winston Salem, NC. They also have breed and work Red & Blue Heelers on their operation. They had a new litter of puppies born in January. Below is more information about their operation. Also check out their website at http://www.showsteers.com/TX%20Enterprises/index.htm and make sure you tell them you saw them on WWW.COWBUYER.COM!

TX Enterprises is a cattle and grain operation. The cattle segment is comprised mainly of commercial cattle. We utilize a cross of Red Simmental and Red Angus. Some of the better halfbloods are mated to Shorthorn for show calves. We do have a handful of quality registered Simmentals and Red Angus. At TX Enterprises we strive for the usual efficiency traits but with an extra focus on disposition and style. Bad tempered cattle are not tolerated and will not be sold to other breeders or youth exhibitors. The registered cows are run with the commercial with the same minimal inputs. The greatest majority of the calves produced are marketed off the farm. Some of these going for breeding stock while others are junior projects. All the steers are finished out in feedlot for freezer beef. The only exception are those individuals lucky enough to be selected for show steers. As a sideline we have bred and trained “real farm” working cattle dogs. Our dogs have made it in many states across the nation, with one of our more popular dogs being at Silvertowne Farms in Indiana. Another addition which has seemed to mesh very well with the other operations is our flock of free range chickens. We utilize Brahmas for their durability and docile nature. The eggs are marketed locally. Unexpectedly this flock of chickens adopted a fledgling turkey last summer that has now taken up permanent residence.
Again Congrats to TX Enterprises. Whether you are looking for show steers and heifers, replacement females, bulls or freezer beef, TX Enterprises has something for you.

Thanks,

COWBUYER

North Carolina Assessment Referendum

Below is an email from our good friend Bryan Blinson from the NC Cattlemen's Association. If you are a NC Cattle producer or have an interest in NC Agriculure, please read below and VOTE! If you have any questions feel free to contact us at info@cowbuyer.com. Thanks - Dustin.

Dear Members and Supporters of the NC Cattlemen’s Association,

One week from today, on Tuesday, October 6 as you know, the North Carolina Cattle Assessment Referendum will be conducted at the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Centers.
Please make sure that all producers are aware that they are eligible to vote on the referendum.
An affirmative vote by producers would provide the industry in North Carolina with funds that would be used in the following five categories; Youth Development, Research, Promotion, Education and Issues Management.
These funds would be for use in the state. The expenditures of these funds would be determined within these five categories by cattle producers.
If you have any questions about the referendum, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank You,
Bryan

Horses

We have been working with a group of horsemen in Arizona, Oklahoma and North Carolina about marketing ranch, reining, cutting, roping and other performance horses in the same format that we have been selling cattle, semen and embryos. We are pleased to announce that we are now at a point to move forward with this venture. If you are looking for a horse, let us know, we will try to match you with a horse that will suite your needs.

If you are looking to sell any horses, contact us today to get started with a custom marketing program just for you.

Thanks.

We're still here

Wow. I didn't realize it has been so long since our last post. Just wanted to let everyone know we are still here. We have some really nice bulls online from the Big Oak Angus program outside Kannapolis, NC. Wayne Wilson and his son have done a great job raising quality animals, and this set of bulls will not dissappoint any producer.

We will be having another semen and embryo auction very soon. UPS managed to take their tole on a shipper tank by turning it over and apparently dropping it. That is what insurance is for, but it takes a while to handle a situation like that.

The Tanglebriar Estate Simmentals Dispersal is on going now. We have decided to market those cattle in groups right off the farm. Those cattle are available now. There are about 125 head still available from their herd. If you are looking for quality replacement commercial females, or need heavy milking recips, these cattle are for you. Contact us today for pricing and more information.

We also have a really nice set of calves from Churchill Farms in Conway, SC that will be online next week. There are some really nice open heifers, one young herd bull prospect, and more available here.

Give us a call or shoot us an email on how we can help make your operation more profitable.

Thanks,

Cowbuyer.

Cowbuyer Out and About

Over the past several weeks, our field reps have been very busy running the roads looking at great cattle. Last week we looked at some very nice Herefords in South Carolina. This Fall we will have these bred and open heifers, as well as a herd bull prospect available in an online only auction.

That same week, we looked over the Tanglebriar Estate Simmental herd that will be dispersed in late July. If you are looking for some great Sim-influenced genetics, look no farther. From solid black and black baldy, to solid red and traditional marked Simmentals, this sale offers something for everybody. We will be selling bred and open heifers, bred cows, cow/calf pairs and bulls. If you would like more info on these cattle and this sale, give us a call or check back soon as we will continue to post more information as the catalog is completed and we get closer to the sale.

We also had the opportunity to look at some nice Angus females, and an Angus bull that will be online soon. At the end of this week we will be heading down to look at a very nice set of Angus bulls that should be available on Cowbuyer.com in the next few weeks.

Looking to buy? Looking to sell? Look no farther, Cowbuyer.com and Cowbuyer LLC can help you find the cattle you are looking for in your herd, or sell the cattle that you need to move. We are based out of North Carolina, but have reps working across the country. Contact Dustin Rogers, Director of Marketing at 336-409-5498 to talk about your cattle needs.
